About us
Sherry Elton - Bio
Sherry is passionate about natural health, about teaching and about 'seeking' the truth. These passions have led her to create this Wellness business as a means of sharing her learning with as many people as she can.
Sherry is the Southland chapter leader of the Weston A Price foundation and she and Jeff milk 7 jersey cows at their 20 acre property at Otatara on the outskirts of Invercargill. They also share their knowledge of cheese and yoghurt making from their home.
It has become clear that the health of our nation's people is not going to be improved by listening to and learning from what is taught to us by the mainstream policies of the last 20 years or so.
There is a huge 'conflict of interest' between our government's health policies and their economic goals. For what other reason would Coca-Cola (for example) be allowed to be sold in our country? Many great people have tried over the decades to change many of these false beliefs from the top and unfortunately it hasn't happened and probably isn't going to happen in our lifetime. This is why we need to learn from each other and take responsibility for our own health and for that of our families. No-one else is going to do it for us.
An interest in a natural way of living started way back, when as a little girl, the highlight of Sherry's life was visiting her grandparents' farm at Kikowhakarere Bay near the township of Coromandel. It grew further as an adult when the 'middle age spread', allergies and lethargy crept up. How could she fix them? It took another step when her father died of stomach cancer in 1994. Why did this happen? What went wrong?
Although Sherry knows that she hasn't found all the answers, in her journey for the truth she has discovered many interesting things that have now helped to change the lives of many people.
Some of these are: Understanding what sabotages people's health the most. And some of these things are actually recommended by most health professionals Learning that there are only a few really simple rules to good health Knowing that it is a myth that you can eat everything in moderation Sherry has a BSc in molecular biology, cellular genetics, chemistry, biology and mathematics. She also has a Diploma of Teaching and taught science and maths in Secondary schools for 6 years. Her study taught her how to think, to make sense of information and to recognise the truth.
One of her special skills, is being able to simplify complex information and package it in simple ways making it easy to understand. She has spent the past 15 years as a health and nutrition researcher.
Sherry also has a very special intuitive ability to feel where people are in their healing process and can often sense something that will make big changes in their lives. Experiencing many difficult challenges of her own, has allowed her to understand the challenges that others are facing. She has a great empathy and understanding for all those she meets.
Jeff Elton - Bio
Jeff has a special way with words and a desire to make the world a better place. He has a background in journalism and writes some articles for magazines and newspapers.
Jeff is the cheese-maker for the Blue River Dairy cheese factory in Invercargill. They primarily make cheeses from sheep's milk.
He has recently begun to develop more fully his interest in an organic way of life and continues to see it as one of the most important of the growth industries. It is much bigger in Europe and America than in New Zealand and this will change over time.
Jeff's favourite cheeses include his own jersey cows feta, (very creamy!!) and halloumi, a special cooked cheese used for frying, both of which he makes at home. He also makes his own yoghurt by the bucketful. Consequently there often isn't much room in the fridge for anything but milk products - oh, and of course, Sauerkraut.
One of Jeff's main interests is to provide fresh farm milk and milk products from his small organic farm near Invercargill and to teach people how to make their own enzyme rich foods.
Jeff has been instrumental in bringing the cheese-making workshops to Invercargill and has helped to develop the Traditional food workshops that Sherry and Jane present in Southland and Otago.
